Supporting and Evolving Iconic Toyota Platforms
Due to the soon to be global cease in 1VD-FTV V8 production in the 200 and 79 series variants, we at 2ID have taken on the initiative to continue to evolve and improve the unique platform for worldwide use.
This variant is no different to the Ford Cleveland, Chevy 350, Ford Barra, Holden 308 engine platforms now no longer in production.
Many of these variants are in smaller production by dedicated global businesses to provide to the ever-supportive fan base.
We have made the world’s first “Full Roller Rocker” for the 1VD-FTV head, we are currently testing the unit for operability and reliability.
We are also building another Australian first Spintron type engine unit for inhouse development work of heads, valve operation, cam sequencing, oil flow and routing.
Also in this lineup is cylinder head flow testing and porting and due to the uniqueness of Diesels, they are not ported the same way as Petrol heads.
We have already completed some development work on the intake manifolds and looking to reduce the EGR soot buildup whilst maintaining emissions requirements.
